You see, my father died suddenly this December. He simply went to bed and never woke up. He had a severe stroke and literally didn't feel a thing. We did not have a chance to say goodbye, though the last thing I said to him was that I love him. I was tasked with putting together some pictures for a slide presentation at the beginning of the funeral. It was the first time in a while that I sat down and looked at my wedding album cover to cover. <br /> <br /> You are amazing. Every picture drew me back into the moment, remembering, laughing, crying. I want to thank you for these pictures, but especially one in particular. You see, well after the allotted time for the father/daughter dance, my father pulled me to the dance floor. For such a big, burly, John Wayne kind of guy, he was wrought with emotion. I remember him wrapping his arms around me and slowly rocking back and forth on the dance floor--a man having to let go of his baby girl and that woman snuggled in the warmth and security of her Daddy's arms. My head on his shoulder, his head bowed down. So much emotion. So much strength. So much love. So much. <br /> <br /> You pressed a button, the shutter opened, exposing the film to the tender moment and then the shutter closed again. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but when I saw that picture again in December I could only think of two: I remember. I remember that very moment in time. I remember the way his arms felt around me. I remember the way he trembled with emotion. I remember everything about that moment. I can only try to convey my gratitude to you for having the wisdom and the artistic eye to capture that moment on film. Thank you so much. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. <br /> <br /> I liked the picture before. Now, I love the picture. It sits in a frame on the mantle. Sometimes, I look at that picture and it makes me cry. Sometimes it makes me laugh.
